Upgrade your existing system...

In some circumstances it is more cost effective to increase the performance of your existing pc rather than purchasing a new one. There are many components within a computer system that if changed can dramatially improve the performance and give you surprising results.

Memory

(RAM) for example 256mb (megabytes) up to 1 GB (gigabytes) DDR (Double data Rate) or newer DDR2. This helps the computer system work faster by enabling faster, more efficient memory storage.

Processor

This is also known as the (CPU) the computers brain, faster processors mean faster commands and programs running smoother. For example an AMD 64 up to AMD 64 X2

Hard Drives

Hard Drives is where everything (programs, files, games, databases etc) is stored, just like a cupboard for your pc. We can upgrade this from an 40GB HD up to 200+GB with different speeds of between 8MB Cache IDE and 16MB Cache SATA.

DVD Drive

Most people still have CD ROM drives and would like to upgrade to DVD RW drives (Digital Versatile Disks) (Re Writer) They read CD ROMs and DVDs and can write material on to both formats at fast rates.

Media Readers

Now that the floppy disk is all but buried as no-one is selling them anymore, we recommend and know that there is an alternative other than the USB pen drive. It is the media card reader. There are some out there that claim to read up to 22 in 1. But the floppy part of the reader is still needed as SATA drives need to be loaded on to systems.

Graphics cards

For visually stunning graphics new graphics cards, especially for gamers or web/graphics designers are a must. We upgrade for example PCI-E (Peripheral Control – Express) or AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) cards.

Fire Wire

Firewire or IEEE1394 is a card device that allows high speed data transfer between video devices or many other devices at a rate of 400MB per second

Motherboards

This Component is what connects everything to everything else and varies considerably in size and variants, the faster the FSB (Front Side Bus) the better.

Sound Card

To listen to music record voice through a mic or setup your PC system as a home cinema then the sound card will be needed. Currently soundcards have an average 7.1 surround sound and DVD quality sound.

Power Supply

As you pack in the devices and components into your system, your system resources will be hungry for power, it’s always better to have more power than less.
