Back in August we gave our view that iPhone and Android would gain over BlackBerry. Now BlackBerry have issued a profit warning and lower forecasts in the face of increased competition. Our advice to customers - don't invest in any more BlackBerry handsets or server upgrades! There is still plenty of choice out there with iPhone and Android leading the charge. These handsets have better reliability and typically lower cost than the equivalent (BES) BlackBerrys. With the new fe... Read more...

Apples recent problems with the iPhone 4 highlight two constant truths in the world of IT: technology is difficult to get perfectly right; and this means having a plan is all important. Sometimes a customer will find incredible that a bit of software doesn't perform exactly how they expect (or is meant to). Microsoft Word used to have plenty of quirks and people just had to live with them until they were eventually ironed out. (Anyone remember formatting Word 6.0 documents to get ri... Read more...

We've been in IT support for years but are still amazed on a regular basis : Streetview, GoogleEarth, the iPhone. And now once again the internet and its ability to offer a site for everything. A friend recently told me he had booked a seat with extra leg room thanks to "seatguru.com". Apparently someone has created a site that suggests the best seats for most aircraft. (Didn't check the F15). We could add loads more examples: myp2p (currently lists World Cup games online); ... Read more...
